Danyasa Eco-Retreat Center for HEY 2027 Costa Rica Retreat:
We are delighted to be hosting you at Danyasa Eco-Retreat Center for your upcoming retreat and are sharing some helpful information regarding your stay.
Check in is at 3:00pm on arrival day! Our first meal together is dinner.
Check-out is at 11:00AM. If your departure time is later in the day, we ask you to have your things packed up by 9:00AM. You are welcome to enjoy the beach and retreat location.

* Any personal medications you take regularly (including prescriptions, C-PAP supplies, headache/motion sickness meds, electrolytes, etc.)
* We’ll have basic first aid supplies on-site, but feel free to bring any personal care items you rely on—like blister pads, allergy meds, or anything that helps you feel your best while traveling.
*Yoga mats are provided, however if you have a favorite mat feel free to bring your own.

I't’s warm, humid, and tropical - quick dry fabrics work best. Danyasa’s open-air bamboo studio and relaxed environment make breathable clothing ideal.

Q. Can I bring outside alcohol or food?

Yes - guests are welcome to bring personal food or snacks. We provide a shared refrigerator designed with storage boxes for each room.
Please avoid leaving unsealed food in your room, as it can attract wildlife.

Getting to Danyasa
Fly into San José International Airport (SJO)
One roundtrip group shuttle between SJO and Danyasa is included with your retreat registration.
To take advantage of the included transportation, please plan your flights around the scheduled group shuttle times.
Arrival
Please plan to arrive at SJO by approximately 1:30 PM on arrival day.
The group shuttle will leave ~2:30-3:30PM and will arrive at Danyasa around 5:30PM (this is subject to change based on flights).
Guests are welcome to coordinate travel plans together.
Departure
The group shuttle will return to SJO on the 19th Departure time of shuttle is TBD - flight are tricky
Please plan your departure flight accordingly.
Prefer to travel separately?
Guests who choose transportation outside of the group shuttle schedule are welcome to make their own arrangements. Any outside transportation is the guest’s responsibility and expense.
For a faster option, some guests may also choose to fly domestically to a nearby airport and arrange transportation from there. *update to include the detail given for Sansa?

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the resort have props? Yes! We will provide mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets. All props are included (if you have a favorite mat feel free to bring your own).
Wi-Fi access? Yes, open network available.
Food allergy accommodations? Can accommodate most dietary needs.
Air conditioning? Yes - all guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Danyasa is designed to embrace the natural environment, so many of the open-air spaces are naturally ventilated.
When is check-in? CHECK IN is 3:00 PM on arrival day.
When is check-out? CHECK OUT is 11:00 AM on departure day.
How do meals work? All meals are prepped fresh on-site by our kitchen team and served in alignment with the retreat schedule. Meals are nourishing, balanced and designed to support the overall retreat experience.
Can we bring outside food or drinks? Yes - guests are welcome to bring personal food or snacks. We provide a shared refrigerator designed with storage boxes for each room.
Is there purified drinking water on-site? Yes -filtered drinking water is available at all times. We also offer hot water, tea and coffee throughout the day. We encourage guests to bring a reusable water bottle.
What kind of medicine should I bring in case I get sick?
We recommend bringing basic over-the-counter medications for stomach upsets (like Pepto-Bismol or Imodium) and fever or pain relief (such as Advil or Tylenol). Allergy medicine etc.
Also, don't forget to pack a good bug repellent and sunscreen for your outings.
What currency is used?
The local currency is the Costa Rican Colon, though US dollars and credit cards are widely accepted. Having a small amount of cash can be helpful for small purchases.Do you typically call your credit cards to tell them you’re traveling? Often will when leaving the country unless forget to ;)
Do I need to bring a charging converter ? (Do they have the same plugs as the U.S.?)
No need to worry about a converter! Costa Rica uses the same power plugs and voltage as the United States (Type A and Type B). Your chargers and electronic devices will work perfectly in our outlets without any extra adapters
